Helicopter Hover Near Kid Rock’s Home Sparks Army Review
In a curious twist of events, the U.S. Army is conducting an administrative review after two AH-64 Apache helicopters were spotted hovering near the property of musician Kid Rock in Nashville, Tennessee. This unusual occurrence took place during a training exercise and was captured in videos shared by the singer on social media.
Kid Rock, known for his vocal support of former President Donald Trump, shared footage on Saturday of the helicopters hovering near his swimming pool. In the videos, the musician is seen applauding, saluting, and raising his fist in appreciation, with the Nashville skyline prominently visible in the backdrop.
In his post, Kid Rock expressed, “This is a level of respect,” adding that the “Governor of California will never know. God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”
California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, has frequently clashed with the Republican president, adding a layer of political context to the incident.
According to Maj. Jonathon Bless, public affairs officer for the 101st Airborne Division, there was no formal request from Kid Rock for the helicopters to visit his residence. The 101st Airborne Division, based at Fort Campbell near the Tennessee-Kentucky border, routinely conducts training flights over the Nashville area.
Interestingly, the helicopters also flew over a “No Kings” protest against the Trump administration on the same day. However, Maj. Bless clarified that the training mission was unrelated to the protest.
The Army released a statement emphasizing the importance of safety and adherence to flight regulations. “Army aviators must adhere to strict safety standards, professionalism, and established flight regulations. An administrative review is underway to assess the mission and verify compliance with regulations and airspace requirements. Appropriate action will be taken if any violations are found,” the statement read.
