Pastor Greg Laurie Faces Unexpected Hurdle at White House Easter Event
Pastor Greg Laurie shared a light-hearted yet thought-provoking experience on social media after an unexpected hiccup at the White House. Laurie, scheduled to deliver a prayer at an Easter service, humorously recounted how he was momentarily barred from entering the premises due to a mix-up.
Laurie used the incident as a metaphor for a more profound spiritual lesson, suggesting that many might face a similar scenario in the afterlife. His experience reminded him of the warnings Jesus gave about those who expect entry into Heaven but find their names missing from the Book of Life.
So, I went to the White House to lead a prayer at their very first worship service—and guess what? My name wasn’t on the list!
Yep. Pastor gets denied at the door.It reminded me of something far more serious—what Jesus said will tragically happen to some people one day when… pic.twitter.com/8aaLhZLOTM

Despite the initial mix-up, Laurie eventually proceeded to deliver his message in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, urging White House staffers to recognize their divine purpose and to maintain courage in their roles. He drew from Esther 4:14, emphasizing the belief that they were placed in their positions for a significant reason.
Laurie also recounted the resurrection narrative from Matthew 28, highlighting the angel’s message of bravery to the witnesses at Christ’s empty tomb. He encouraged modern-day believers to adopt this message of fearlessness.
Following Laurie, Evangelist Franklin Graham addressed the attendees, cautioning those in power against assuming divine favor due to their status. He used the parable of Lazarus and the rich man from Luke 16 to illustrate the potential spiritual peril of worldly success.
Graham posed a rhetorical question based on Mark 8:36, “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?” He emphasized the eternal nature of the soul and the stark realities of Heaven and Hell.
Sharing his personal journey, Graham admitted to having grappled with his own sinfulness before embracing the Gospel message he was raised with. He urged listeners to place their hope in Jesus Christ, warning against reliance on wealth and power for salvation.
Both Laurie and Graham were among several prominent Evangelicals who joined President Donald Trump for an intimate Easter dinner in the White House’s Blue Room. During the gathering, the President underscored the significance of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross as an expression of divine love.
