In the past, Yarbrough ran for Texas Senate District 30 but did not succeed in the runoff.
Trump’s endorsement, announced on Truth Social, declared Yarbrough an “America First Patriot” and expressed strong support for his platform. Trump’s message praised Yarbrough’s commitment to job creation, tax cuts, American manufacturing, energy independence, and a revitalized national agenda.
In contrast, Ryan Binkley, another notable candidate, has garnered support from various Evangelical leaders. Binkley, who is both the pastor of Create Church and CEO of Generational Group, previously challenged Trump in the 2024 GOP presidential race, gaining some attention despite ultimately endorsing Trump after withdrawing.
The race includes several other Republican contenders: James Ussery, Darrell Day, Paul Bondar, Gordon Heslop, Monty Montanez, Abteen Vaziri, and Aimee Carrasco. With the primary scheduled for March 3, early voting has already commenced, creating a dynamic and competitive environment.
Amid the congressional race, Trump has not yet made a decision regarding his endorsement in the Texas Senate primary. This race features incumbent Sen. John Cornyn, facing challenges from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt, all of whom have ties to Trump. In a recent interaction with reporters, Trump indicated that the Senate race is still unfolding.
