Protests Erupt Worldwide Against Tesla and Elon Musk’s Political Role

Massive Global Protests Target Tesla Amid Growing Controversy Over Elon Musk’s Political Ties

Tensions are escalating as Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, faces increasing scrutiny for his involvement with the Trump administration. This weekend marks a significant escalation in opposition, with numerous peaceful protests planned at Tesla facilities worldwide.

The “Tesla Takedown” initiative is gaining momentum, with organizers aiming to orchestrate a series of nonviolent protests globally. Hundreds of demonstrations are anticipated across the U.S. alone, as activists call for a boycott of Tesla cars and stocks.

The campaign is a response to Musk’s perceived detrimental impact on government structures, particularly following his involvement in the controversial DOGE initiative, which critics claim is dismantling infrastructure. Joel Lava, a prominent figure in the Los Angeles protests, stated, “He’s spearheading DOGE, which is spearheading our country’s destruction.”

The movement’s grievances extend beyond governmental issues. Musk’s critics have highlighted his controversial political gestures and statements, including perceived support for far-right ideologies. His actions have reportedly contributed to a decline in Tesla’s sales and investor confidence, although market competition and auto tariffs are also factors.

Despite the peaceful nature of the Tesla Takedown protests, some anti-Musk activities have turned violent, with incidents of arson and vandalism targeting Tesla properties in both the U.S. and Europe. However, the movement’s organizers reject these violent acts, maintaining their commitment to nonviolence.

Recently, Musk accused Valerie Costa, a Seattle-based activist, of criminal activities related to the protests, a claim she denies. Costa reported receiving threats following Musk’s comments, stating, “When one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful person in the world is saying you’ve committed a crime, it doesn’t matter what the truth is.”

As the protests continue, Tesla Takedown leaders are determined to impact Musk’s influence by challenging Tesla’s brand reputation. “Trump only likes [Musk] because he’s rich,” said Lava, emphasizing the potential to effect change by diminishing Musk’s wealth and influence.
