The Federal Bureau of Investigation is executing a “court authorized law enforcement action” at the location of the Fulton County election office in Georgia. The exact purpose of the search remains undisclosed, though it follows recent legal actions concerning the 2020 election records.
Last month, the Department of Justice initiated a lawsuit against Fulton County for access to election-related documents from 2020. The lawsuit references attempts by the Georgia State Election Board to acquire these records.
According to the DOJ’s complaint, a letter was sent by the U.S. attorney general on October 30, 2025, to the county’s Board of Registration and Elections, requesting “all records in your possession responsive to the recent subpoena issued to your office by the State Election Board.”
A judge in Fulton County has recently denied the county’s attempt to block the subpoena.
Fulton County has been a focal point of baseless claims regarding election fraud following the 2020 presidential election, particularly from former President Trump and his supporters.
In November, a substantial election interference case against Trump and his associates was thrown out by a Fulton County judge, further complicating the legal landscape surrounding these allegations.
