Rep. Greene and Colleagues Address Transgenderism, Propose Legislation

Legislators Frame Transgender Debate as a Spiritual Battle

In a recent discourse on spiritual perspectives and legislative action, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and her colleagues have aligned transgender issues with spiritual warfare. Their discussions accompany proposed legislation aiming at regulating transgender procedures for minors.

During an appearance on the podcast “Right to the Point,” produced by the Republican Study Committee, Greene critiqued North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. A leaked video from the church allegedly instructed leaders to affirm transgender identities among minors.

Greene described transgenderism as “a direct attack on God’s creation,” asserting that “God created us male and female just like the bill is stating, male and female in His image, and that’s why the Left is attacking it.”

Supporting Greene’s stance were Reps. Mary Miller, R-Ill., and Diana Harshbarger, R-Tenn., who are among the cosponsors of the “Protect Children’s Innocence Act” (H.R. 1399). This bill seeks to classify trans procedures on minors as felonies and allows minors to sue those who perform such procedures.

Harshbarger, a licensed pharmacist, expressed her belief that transgender ideology is demonic, saying, “God is so good when He puts us where we need to be to take care of those issues. And it’s a lie from the pits of Hell that you can change your sex; you can’t change your DNA.”

Greene further commented on North Point Community Church, led by Pastor Andy Stanley, which was recently highlighted in a video suggesting church leaders affirm trans identities. Greene stated, “That should never happen in church, because that is, like you said, it’s confirming Satan’s lie to these vulnerable children.”

The Christian Post has sought a response from North Point Community Church and will update upon receiving any comments.

Rep. Mark Alford, R-Mo., who conducted the podcast interview, traced transgenderism’s spiritual conflict back to biblical times, mentioning, “It’s a great lie that Satan had from the very beginning in the Garden of Eden, and he is a liar and deceiver.”

Alford further criticized the societal pressure to conform to gender dysphoria affirmations, questioning, “Why would you affirm any type of dysphoria?”

Greene’s legislative proposal is currently with the Subcommittee on Health, with hopes for a House vote soon. She indicated that former President Donald Trump is prepared to sign it into law.

In related discussions, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt acknowledged spiritual challenges surrounding Trump, saying, “And I think I saw it firsthand, especially throughout the campaign trail with President Trump.”
