End Citizens United Unveils List of Allegedly Corrupt Lawmakers
A progressive advocacy group, End Citizens United, which focuses on curtailing the influence of dark money in politics, has published a new list naming what it claims are the most corrupt members of Congress.
The compilation features 16 members of the House of Representatives and three senators, all of whom are Republicans. According to the group, these lawmakers prioritize the interests of corporate donors over the needs of their constituents.
End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller remarked, “They side with Big Pharma, Big Oil, Big Tech, and Wall Street while hardworking Americans pay more for everyday essentials like health care, utilities, and rent.”
Senators Under Scrutiny
The senators named include Susan Collins of Maine, Jon Husted of Ohio, and Ashley Moody of Florida, all facing competitive reelections this year.
The group alleges that Senator Collins has received over $8.3 million from corporate PACs, particularly those in the pharmaceutical and insurance sectors. She reportedly maintains a substantial stock portfolio and opposed legislation banning congressional stock trading.
Collins’ stock investments reportedly increased by over 77% in 2024, while many senior citizens in Maine spent 10% of their income on healthcare. Additionally, she voted against the Inflation Reduction Act in 2022, which aimed to cut pharmaceutical costs for seniors.
Her support for the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which reduced corporate tax rates, and backing of the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act, aimed at cutting Medicaid, are also points of contention.
Senator Husted, who took office last year, has reportedly accepted more than $550,000 from corporate PACs, mainly from the insurance industry. He is also noted for supporting the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Husted’s association with billionaire Les Wexner, known for his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, is highlighted by the group. He received a $3,500 donation from Wexner in September 2025, following the exposure of Wexner’s connection to Epstein. Two months later, Husted voted against a Senate amendment that would have mandated the release of investigative documents related to Epstein by Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Muller added, “The corrupt politicians on this year’s list take money from corporate special interests and billionaires and use their power to protect those same donors as they raise prices on working families.”
House Representatives Named
Among the congresspeople listed are Michigan Rep. Bill Huizenga, New York Rep. Mike Lawler, Pennsylvania Rep. Rob Bresnahan, and Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles.
