We’ve been able to get water wherever we need,” she mentioned. Alongside her best friend Shirley Jenkins, Morris planned to stay for the entire day’s events, including President Trump’s speech. Jenkins proclaimed, “We’re going to be here for Trump’s speech, too, ’cause if we’re going to sweat, we’re going to sweat for Trump.”

President Trump’s speech was scheduled for 9:45 pm, with temperatures still expected to remain in the high 80s. The speech was anticipated to echo themes from a recent address at Mount Rushmore, where he highlighted American achievements and voiced concerns about communism, stating, “Communism is the exact opposite of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It’s death, tyranny and the pursuit of evil.”
In addition to political discourse, Trump urged Senate Republicans to abolish the filibuster to pass his proposed voter ID law.
The evening was set to conclude with a massive fireworks display, featuring 850,000 fireworks over a 40-minute period, as reported by the Washington Post.
