An Innovative AI Tool Answers Questions on Christianity in Iran
An organization dedicated to spreading Christianity in Iran has unveiled a groundbreaking AI tool designed to address frequently asked questions about the religion.
The tool, named Kairos, was developed by Transform Iran, which aims to support both Iranians abroad and those residing within the country. Initially intended to assist the church in Iran, Kairos has evolved into a resource for anyone with questions about the faith.
Nigel Sussex, Development Director for Transform Iran UK, highlighted Kairos’s potential impact in Iran, where Christians, particularly those who have converted from Islam, face intense persecution.
“It is about helping people access biblical truth when geography, persecution, security concerns or a lack of Christian community make human connection difficult. We want seekers to find answers they can trust and believers to be strengthened in their faith wherever they live,” he stated.
Transform Iran identified a unique need for such a tool, noting that while AI is commonly used to explore Christianity, most AI platforms are not tailored to align with traditional Christian doctrine.
Kairos aims to bridge this gap. In contrast to typical AI tools, it does not rely solely on internet-sourced information but rather utilizes a vast collection of Christian content, including 7,000 articles from Transform Iran’s library of Persian-language apologetic and theological writings. Human oversight is also employed to ensure theological accuracy.
The term “Kairos” is derived from ancient Greek, signifying a moment of profound importance. It appears multiple times in the New Testament, such as in Mark 1:15, where Jesus proclaims, “The time has come … The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
Lana Silk, CEO of Transform Iran, expressed, “People everywhere are searching for truth, identity and hope, yet millions still lack access to trustworthy answers about Christianity … We built Kairos to be different. Every response is rooted in Scripture, shaped by sound theology and designed to point people towards Jesus Christ.”
Sussex added, “We want to ensure that every person searching for truth can access clear, biblically sound answers in their own language. Kairos has been accessed in 27 out of the 30 most persecuted countries – it’s free of charge, theologically strong and accessible in so many languages.
