In a remarkable gathering of Christian minds, the Holy Renaissance Conference in London became a focal point for discussions on spreading faith, fostering unity, and enhancing public witness. This significant event, organized by Share Jesus International in collaboration with the global movement Billion Soul Harvest, aimed to touch the lives of a billion people with the Christian message.
Dr. James Hwang, the visionary leader behind Billion Soul Harvest, delivered a compelling address concerning the spiritual landscape of Europe. Hwang emphasized, “I’ve been praying for the continent of Europe for a long while,” highlighting that Europe’s primary challenge is not just a deficiency of truth, but rather, “a lack of the presence of God.”
Young Cho, serving as the international coordinator for Billion Soul Harvest, underscored the pressing need for global Christian unity and evangelism. “There are more than eight billion people in the world,” Cho noted. “Out of those, 2.5 billion are Christian. We are here because we want to see those in darkness taste and see the goodness of God.”
Cho articulated four pivotal themes guiding their mission: “great return, great harvest, great unity and great breakthrough.” He expressed optimism about the spiritual awakening in the UK, particularly among young people, stressing that such a movement requires a unified Christian front. “This cannot be done by one person, one church or one nation. It has to be done by the body of Christ united together,” he asserted.
The conference featured numerous breakout sessions aimed at empowering churches and individuals in their evangelical efforts. Geoff Shave, Church Engagement Director at Agapé UK, led a session entitled “Recommending Jesus,” focusing on personal witness and outreach strategies. Shave addressed the common challenges faced by church members, stating, “Quite often where church witness gets stuck is with personal witness.” He encouraged attendees to consider their daily interactions as opportunities for evangelism, emphasizing, “If God has placed someone in your life who does not know Him, there’s a reason for that.”
Shawn Brann, founder of Ignite Europe and the Go & Tell Movement, conducted another session, sharing the evolution of his initiative from a small meeting in Zurich to a series of international events. “We are working on 15 national events around the world,” Brann stated, while also calling for the mobilization of everyday Christians in evangelism efforts. He highlighted the importance of personal involvement in faith sharing, declaring, “Evangelism is an expectation and command for all believers and not a special gift for some.”
